Silver Award for the brilliant designers at The Tenfold Collective

Our friends and colleagues at The Tenfold Collective win big a The Strathmore Show for the first quarter of 2009, and they are looking good. Read all about it here:

From www.FeltandWire.com:

Silver: Tree of Life Landscapes, The Tenfold Collective

The Tenfold Collective created the new identity for Tree of Life Landscapes from the ground up. Designer Josh Emrich comments, “The tree icon is the same shape as the leaves within, suggesting a microcosm, which is what many people here want in a landscape design, to recreate everything they love about the Colorado outdoors in their own backyard.”

The graphic elements work separately as well, as we shall see in the three-dimensional interactive experience, coming early this Summer. The birds will get some flashy airplay.

The entire system was letterpress printed at Rohner Letterpress, including the organic pattern on the back of the business cards. “Rohner helped us select the stock for the best indention on Tree of Life. We wanted something clean white, spongy, and tactile.”

Aside: Business cards personalize at the bottom with a small digitally-printed label. Each person selects his or her own background solid, and then the name and e-mail are reversed out.

Great work from one of NoCo’s best. It’s nice to see that letterpress is alive and well in Northern Colorado. Makes me wish I still had my garage full of antique printing equipment.

Let us know about your accolades and awards

We’re more than happy to share the love here at Refresh NoCo. Just one question for our friends at TenFold - what’s with all the rabbits?

Thanks to John Metcalf for Tweeting about this @John_Metcalf

The Tree of Life logo is a rip off. It was originally designed by Wink. Look at their logo section. It was done in 2006.

It was brought to our attention this week by several comments on a few industry blogs that The Tenfold Collective’s Tree of Life logo, completed by our firm last fall as part of a larger identity project, is similar to the Mayo Woodlands logo created by the design firm Wink in 2006. We have reviewed both, and while there are differences, we acknowledge there are certainly similarities and understand concerns being raised about the resemblance of the two logos. Please know that we pride ourselves not only on our creativeness and customer service, but also on our honesty and integrity; we would never purposefully duplicate or copy another organization’s work. To this end and to address any concerns, as well as out of respect to Wink, Mayo Woodlands and our client, Tenfold immediately removed this logo from our portfolio, began taking steps to redesign the Tree of Life logo at our cost as well as working with our client to begin phasing out use of the existing mark. Although Tree of Life and Mayo Woodlands focus their activities in separate industries and regions of the country, we felt this was the best course of action.

Why do you guys rip off other agencies work and call it your own? Can’t you come up with actual, original work? this is getting out of control. Here are more examples of them copying other agencies work.

  4. How about sending us some of Wirestone’s work so we can highlight that instead?
